Grafbase Announces $7.3M in Funding to Build the Data Platform of the Future

• Seed round led by Next47, with participation from Alven, Uncorrelated Ventures and angel investors including the CEOs of Vercel and Datadog and ex-CEO of GitHub
• With the fresh funding, Grafbase will double down on becoming the standard to deploy globally fast backends

STOCKHOLM, Oct. 25, 2022 /PRNewswire/ -- Grafbase, the data platform for developers, today announced that it has raised $7.3M in total funding. The company's fresh $5M seed round was led by Next47, a global venture capital firm investing in category-defining B2B companies. The funding round also saw participation from Alven, Uncorrelated Ventures, and a group of renowned angel investors including Vercel CEO Guillermo Rauch, Datadog CEO Olivier Pomel, GitHub ex-CEO Nat Friedman, Netlify CEO Mathias Biilmann Christensen, and Cockroach Labs CEO Spencer Kimball, among others.

With the fresh funding, Grafbase will accelerate its product development and double the size of the team. Grafbase is a remote-first company distributed across Europe and the US and is available for developers now.

Since Grafbase was launched in beta to the developer community in early August, hundreds of projects have already been created with a growing community forming in Discord. Some early adopters are building mobile, e-commerce, and Jamstack backends already.

Before founding Grafbase, Swedish-born Fredrik Björk (who started coding at the age of 9) was the CTO at The RealReal (REAL) . Previously he was the founder and CTO of Avatars United, a social network for the metaverse that was acquired by Linden Lab (creators of Second Life) in 2010.
